In Year 5's PE sessions, we have been creating planetary dances, combining our knowledge from our space project with our understanding of how our bodies can move in different ways. The children have looked at dance techniques such as mirroring, transitioning and differing heights to create routines which we have been recording to watch back and improve.

To begin with we produced the planets in order, focusing on differentiating between them by each planet's unique characteristics, then considering how we could portray these with our movements. This progressed into learning how the planets were named after different Roman Gods and we worked in groups to choreograph dances that personify these; culminating in performances to the class.
