Despite the current situation, the librarians at Cornerstone have been kept very busy thanks to your continued engagement with the systems they have put in place to keep your children reading.
Flipgrid Bookworms, where your children can record themselves reading or talking about a book, and earn certificates for every milestone number of videos they have recorded, now has over 100 responses since its relaunch on 15th January! The library team have really enjoyed listening to these videos and are always pleased to see more children getting involved.
More and more children who are attending virtual school are using our new click and collect system, whereby your children can reserve the books they would like to read, our librarians prepare it for you, and then send you an email to confirm when they are ready to collect from the main reception at your child’s school. Books can be reserved using our online library system, a guide to which can be found here.
The library team are also pleased that children from the trust will soon be able to access a range of e-books using our new subscription to myON. More details on how to use the myON service will be provided in due course.
Meanwhile, children still attending school have been given regular slots (within their bubbles) to attend the library and select new reading materials.
This means that all children across the trust, whether they are in school or attending lessons online, now have plenty of opportunities to access a wide range of reading materials, and still receive dedicated support from our library team.
